How to make a printable attendance sheet
Step 1
Choose your program type
Classroom, after-school, nonprofit, CLE, grant or training: each prints its own code legend in the footer.

Pick your month
Columns auto-sized to real weekdays only, no weekends. Click any date to drop it as a holiday or no-school day.
Step 3
Paste your names
One per line, typed or pasted from anywhere. Each person gets a numbered row, and the list carries across every month.
Step 4
Print it
Download a print-quality PNG and put it on a clipboard. CSV too if you want the same list digitally. Full year in one click.
Printable registers for every kind of room
Who prints these attendance sheets
Class attendance sheets
A monthly classroom register with P, A, T, E, H, R codes. Print it at the start of each month and clip it to the board. Every subject, every grade.
Homeschool attendance sheets
A printable homeschool attendance record with a column per real weekday, which is what state reporting counts. Mark co-op days and holidays, then download the whole year.
Daycare & preschool
A monthly grid to keep in the licensing binder. Use the After-School codes. Prints a register you mark, not a parent-signature time-in and time-out sheet.
AA, recovery & nonprofit meetings
A dated record of who attended, using neutral codes with no school letters. Members often need one for courts, probation officers or employers.
CLE, CPE & CME sessions
Compliance attendance for continuing education credit, with the NC (No Credit) code built in for people who attended but did not earn it.
Staff meetings & training
A printed sign-in grid to pass round at a safety talk, workshop or training session. Add your organization name so it stands up in a compliance file.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a printable attendance sheet or a spreadsheet?
Printable. The download is a print-quality PNG, so it comes out of the printer looking like a proper register rather than a screenshot of a spreadsheet. There is a CSV download as well if you want the same list in Google Sheets or Excel afterwards, but the sheet itself is built to be printed, pinned to a clipboard and marked with a pen.
Does it print a blank sheet, or one with the names already on it?
It prints your names. Paste your list and each person gets their own row down the left column, already numbered, so nobody has to write the register out by hand every month. If you leave the box empty the sheet generates with sample names as a preview rather than empty rows, so paste your real list before you download. There is currently no blank-rows option.
Can I use this as a homeschool attendance sheet?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. Pick your month and the sheet gives you a column for every real weekday, which is what most state homeschool reporting counts. Mark your own co-op days and holidays so the columns match the days you actually taught, and download all ten months at once to keep a full-year attendance record in one folder.
Does it work for daycare and preschool attendance?
It does. Choose the After-School program type for the code legend, paste your children's names, and print a monthly grid. Many centers print one per month and keep them in a binder for licensing checks. Worth knowing: this prints a register grid you mark with codes, not a parent-signature sheet with separate time-in and time-out columns.
Can I make an AA or recovery meeting attendance sheet?
Yes. Choose the Nonprofit / Youth program type for a neutral code legend without school-specific letters, paste your members, and print the month. Groups use these to give members a dated record of the meetings they attended for courts, probation officers or employers. The sheet prints names, so it works as a register you tick rather than a blank sheet people sign themselves into.
Can I use it as a meeting or training sign-in sheet?
Yes. Generate the grid, print it, and pass it round for people to initial next to their name as they arrive. It works for staff meetings, safety and toolbox talks, conference sessions and workshops. Add your organization name in the details step so the printed sheet identifies itself, which matters if it is going into a compliance file.
Is this completely free?
Yes. No account, no credit card, no email required. Download as many sheets as you need. Files include a small "Powered by OneTap · onetapcheckin.com" footer — that's how we support the free tool.
How are the columns calculated?
We calculate the exact weekdays (Monday–Friday) for the month and year you select. No weekends, no manual counting. You can then click any day to mark it as a holiday or no-school day and it will be removed from the sheet.
What does the program type change?
It changes the attendance code legend that appears in the footer of every sheet. K-12 gets P, A, T, E, H, R. CLE/CPE gets P, A, T, E, NC. After-school gets P, A, T, E, W, H. Employee training gets P, A, T, E, L, C. Each set is designed for what that program actually tracks.
What is the "full year download"?
It downloads all 10 months of your selected academic year (August through May) as individual PNG files. Each month is calculated with its own real weekdays, and holidays you marked apply only to the month you marked them in.
What is OneTap and why is it on the sheet?
OneTap is the digital attendance platform that built and maintains this free tool. When you're ready to replace paper, OneTap lets students or participants scan a QR code to check in — attendance records fill themselves, timestamped and audit-ready. The footer link is how we invite you to try it.
How does OneTap's free plan work?
OneTap has a forever free plan with up to 20 student profiles — not a trial, permanently free. Students scan a QR code and their name appears on your screen instantly. Reports generate automatically. Your CSV imports in one click.
Can I remove the OneTap branding?
The free version includes a small footer. Sign up for OneTap free — the in-product PDF export is white-label and includes additional export formats (Excel, PDF, direct LMS integrations).
Does this work for after-school and grant programs?
Absolutely. Select the After-School or Grant Program type. You get the right codes (P, A, T, E, W, M or H) and the layout is designed to pass grant audits. The CSV exports directly into OneTap which generates the compliance reports for 21st CCLC, federal grants, and similar programs.
The natural next step
Ready to stop filling in this sheet by hand?
When attendance fills itself because students scan a QR code on arrival — you get back hours every month. That's what OneTap does. Your class list from this tool imports in one click.
